Have you always been the shy type? That person who always shies away from a camera, especially from videocams? I must admit that I have always been that person ever since I entered High School. But it seems that being online has somehow cured me of that phobia. How?
First I was chatting. It was just simple fun back then, typing back and forth and knowing someone online. Then voice chats were introduced and then the use of web cameras became a necessity. Though I didn’t really use the voice and camera capabilities of my computer for chatting, having a wide array of available music online captivated me.
Purchasing Gemini Headphones at Guitar Center would be ideal but since I haven’t really upgraded my “tools”, I am slowly learning a lot about music and how it works… and yes, all of it from online reading alone. I’m thinking that once I get to master some of the techniques, then I can definitely invest on high quality tools and materials starting with my headphones.
What’s even more interesting now is how learning all of these can help the younger generation in my family who are absolutely into music. Most of them have their own bands and none of them are professionally trained. Everything they know is from trial and error and whatever they learn off the internet. Yes, it may mean that they spend more time with their computers but we’ve got to support their hobbies and dreams, right? Thank god for the internet!
Work from Home jobs… that used to be the dream job, especially for moms who want to earn a little on the side. Lately though, I’ve been seeing a lot more moms working “everywhere”, I guess due to the portability of work. Though their work probably should be done at “home”, with the emergence of tablets, smartphones and netbooks, working “everywhere” seems to be how things are done nowadays. Whether in a enjoying some chill time in coffee shop, or listening to the “dings” in an elevator, or simply waiting in queue in your lowa renegade boots, people can continue doing their jobs as long as their gadgets (and internet) allow them. Fun, right? Who would have thought this would be the age of 24/7 work?
Although it is the middle of Summer, it is that time of the year where I clean up files from all my storage devices (PC, laptop, external HDs and throw away useless CDs). Yep, it definitely isn’t fun but it is a necessity to keep storage space at it’s optimum and also to get rid of links and files that are of no use.
Unlike cleaning houses, gardens or farms where one can simply apply some Tengard insecticide to get rid of unwanted bugs, cleaning up memory space takes a lot of time and effort. Especially now that everything comes in terabytes, imagine looking through billions and millions of pictures and files!
Now that I think of it, this may not just be a Summer cleanup. Think I’ll finish before the end of the year?
I recently saw a post about the release of the new Blackberry Z10. It got me curious because I’m on the lookout to upgrading my phone since my daughter thinks it is now her phone. The memory is almost used up because of her pictures so maybe I should just get myself a new one instead of deleting her pictures over and over (she takes new ones everyday anyway).
I found a site that can compare two phones and by the time I’ve read through it, my mind is still not made up. I’ve never used a Blackberry before but the features look promising, especially the camera specifications. For a mom like me, the camera is very important. I use it most the time to capture (a lot of) precious moments of my daughter. Yup, I’m one of those who just love to click away in a heartbeat.
So far I’ve got a slight majority vote on the BB Z10 from my friends, but a lot of loyal Apple consumers still say the iPhone is better. Maybe when I get my hands on a physical BB Z10 unit I can finally choose. After all, at the end of the day it’s still about being comfortable with it, right? Buying a phone like buying a stereo stand though those have to be pretty sturdy and reliable as well.
