It’s interesting how Apple just keeps going and going… in this case, they’re going after Hulu. I just read news that it’s their latest prospective acquisition and should this go through, Apple users can definitely enjoy more online TV streaming from their favorite gadgets.
Hulu is jointly owned by NBC Universal, FOX Entertainment Group and Disney-ABC Television Group (The Walt Disney Company). Reuters reported last July 7 that the owners, specifically Disney’s Iger, are committed to the sale of Hulu and that they are after the highest possible value the sale could amount to rather than who the next owner will be.
But what’s interesting about all this is that reports also say that Steve Jobs, who is also called the “brain” behind Apple’s comeback, is also Disney’s largest shareholder. Gizmodo.com reported earlier that other parties interested in bidding for Hulu are CBS, Microsoft (who seems to have lost interest according to Bloomberg) and Google. I guess we’ll see how this all pans out and which giant wins.
When I got married 7 years ago, everything just happened so fast. I barely knew what was happening and how it all happened. As long as we had everything we needed for the marriage or wedding ceremony like the rings, candles, and a pen to sign the marriage certificate, we were all good.
I knew what the ring was supposed to represent, a happy ever eternal life with the one you love, but it was just recently that it dawned on me what rings meant for some people, this was my online find. Through makemypromisering.com, I had a better idea of what rings symbolize when given to fulfill a promise, when to give a promise ring (this one’s for my bro who wants to give his current girlfriend a promise ring), or even what it means to wear a promise ring (he should read this too).
Rings may be an accessory for some, but for others it holds a deeper meaning – this I know now. I am sure to share this with my not-so-little brother since he’s really saving up for a promise ring for his girlfriend, or better yet, since he’s online most of the time, he should just visit the site and read it for himself so he’s clear what he’s getting himself into. Forgot to mention, he’s 17.
Reports have been coming out left and right that the much-awaited iPhone 5 may be coming out on the second week of September (I assume, in the US). This early, a lot of people I know are already getting in touch with their favorite phone resellers to have themselves listed when it comes out in our country. Some of my friends are even willing to go to the US or have their relatives buy it for them as soon as it comes out.
I too am interested to know what the real difference is from the iPhone 4 (aside from design) but I don’t think I’ll be lining up the stores to upgrade my phone. First they don’t come that cheap and second, my phone works fine so no need to change it. I’m the type that sticks to my phone just until it gives up on me (my previous phone was the one I used for 6 years). I’m sure iPhone 5 will cause a stir in the tech world so as early as now I should read up on what to expect from it. Who knows, I might just get to try one to review, right?
Would you be lining up for the iPhone 5? Or do you still prefer Android or BlackBerry?
One thing I’m thankful for with the internet is that most government bodies and news companies have facebook or twitter accounts. Because of their religious update of events, whether it be local events or weather reports, I’m also in the know as to what to expect.
This is helpful because everyone is online most of the time. Almost everyone I know has internet 24/7, either in their homes (for stay or work at home moms, or on their mobile phones (data plans). Everyone seems to know what the latest news is in a matter of seconds because it goes viral.
This news of tropical storms entering the country one after the other (Juaning, and now Kabayan) is alarming but hopefully it won’t hit us so hard here in the metro. I don’t particularly like this time of the year but I know something that does… the gardens.
Coming off from a very hot and humid summer, this is the chance for gardens to recover. My grandmother and aunt is particularly happy when it keeps raining because they save a lot from watering their plants, which means their whole backyard. And because grass seems to grow faster, sooner or later they will probably invest in an ariens zero turn mowers. Because my grandmother and aunt are in their senior years, it be a bit hard for them to keep up with cutting the grass so a machine will definitely help them (and their back pains). I know my brother would welcome going to their house once a week to mow it for them.
But aside from the gardens, I don’t know who or what else enjoys this much rain. But even if it’s inconvenient for some, I hope we take this opportunity to always pray for everyone’s safety. Typhoon season or not, there are always advantages and disadvantages. This soon will pass but I just pray that everyone is kept safe, and that we take every precaution and advance notice from what we can through whatever the latest in technology can give us.
