Now that Mother’s Day has passed, next is our parents’ anniversary. Since our father passed away 14 years ago, I want it to be a bit more special for my mom this year by sending her a gift from us, her children. I know my father never let their anniversary pass without a gift so this time, we shouldn’t too.
I’ve been looking online for anniversary gifts for her and might give more than just 1 gift. Hopefully my siblings will approve but aside from chocolates and flowers, maybe we can also give her some well-deserved pampering. She’s not into the whole spa idea so instead of forcing her to go one, we’ll just bring it to her house so she can’t refuse.

One business that’s said to almost always have a positive return is a restaurant or bar. When the hubby was looking on opportunities for investment, he actually came across this idea with his investment partner and I was very much supportive of it.
They were thinking of putting up a fusion restaurant in the day and maybe turn it into a light, cozy bar at night. Of course scouting for materials to use wasn’t easy but they were able to canvas some through mutual connections. I also made some suggestion for them to search online especially through Rapids Wholesale bar equipment since they might find it cheaper than getting items from separate suppliers.
I do hope that they get to continue with it because I am sure that it will be great. Everybody loves food and almost everyone that works would like to have cozy nightcap before heading home, right?
Watching the American Idol for weeks now makes me think that these “idols” really serve as role model to the teens. Why? With Philip Phillips winning the title, I see more and more teens buy their own Squier Stratocaster Electric Guitars at the music shop when we go to the mall.
I mean it is kind of good that they follow their dreams. I just hope that in buying them, parents are also responsible enough to let their children know not to abandon their priorities in life. As a parent, my priority for my child/children will always be education but I will always encourage them to follow their dream and passion. They just need to know which one should come first.
Like these idols in the show, they joined because of one dream. I applaud all of them for going for it especially the younger ones but I do hope that they go back to school in case they haven’t graduated yet. But for those that will be making a career out of their popularity in AI, like Philip, we will support their talent all the way. I have so much belief in him as a singer, composer and arranger and I do love the way he plays his guitar. Yes, it’s a bit different than the past singers even if he has been labelled a winner because he is another “White Guy With Guitar” (WGWG). Makes me remember to download his songs on iTunes especially “Home”.
Now that the little one is pretty much active in some extra-curricular activities, maybe it’s time for me to go get myself a workstations. Having a bit more time to myself will enable me to grab a couple more part time job online and earn a little bit more.
I just need to find the proper furniture, like a studio trends desk and an ergonomic chair that won’t take much space in our spare room. That way I have an area all to myself to concentrate whenever the little one has her own chores and homework to do. Maybe we can even share the room as long as we set the rules that it’s for work/school only.
