On Insurance

Being an employee, I have only been aware of certain types of insurance that are part of our benefit package. There was the optional Life Insurance, the group insurance and the health insurance. I have always paid much attention to these three until I left the workforce and start doing some part time work from home.

Now that we’re venturing into our own business and career, we should also consider Business Liability or Commercial General Liability Insurance. Browsing what it’s about, I know it will definitely be an advantage for any business, whether it is small-scale or not. It will not only protect us and our business but also our clients in the event that something untoward may happen.

Remembering a Father

June is a month of mixed emotions for me. It’s my birth month, but at the same time, it’s also the month when my father passed away. Every year, as Father’s day nears, the memory of his passing is kept fresh in my mind.

He passed a couple of days before Father’s Day but for some reason, we celebrated it a week early. I remember us children thinking of buying a present for him such as one of those leather wallets for men that we saw in a store because the one he was using was literally dilapidated. We didn’t get to buy him a present but we had one of the best Sundays ever, I recall.

I miss him terribly but I know he’s in a happy place now. I just hope he knows that we always remember him, that we always think of him ever since that day.

To the fathers out there, Happy Advanced Father’s Day to you. May you live longer and stay happy and blessed in life.

Buying gifts online

One of the most popular gifts I know being bought online are scented candles. I have been tempted to try buying one online too but I’m just a little hesitant about the condition of the candle when I receive it.

Diptyque Scented CandleI guess that’s the risk I have to take with buying gifts online. I’m pretty sure the candle itself will not be damaged, meaning its usability. I’m just worried about the exterior of the candle itself when it’s shipped and moved around.

Maybe I can just request for additional bubble wrap in it’s packaging (or even the outer packaging itself) to ensure that the physical shape won’t be damaged. Oh well, I’ll just have to get in touch with the store where I’m thinking of buying some Diptyque scented candles. I’m just so intrigued with their Santal, Patchouli and Feu de Bois scents that I think I’ll give this online shopping a try.
